Training Officer

Northamptonshire £28k

Principle purpose of the role:

To support the Learning and Development Manager in the delivery of all training and development activity, across the business and to accelerate the learning process within chosen areas.

To own and manage the Training Matrix and ensure staff are demonstrably competent to fulfil their role and are supported with appropriate development interventions.

Essential Skills / Experience:

Food Manufacturing experience Excellent communication skills PC literate Attention to detail Great organisational skills.

Desirable Skills / Experience:


Food Safety training experience, HS&E training experience, Principal Responsibilities, Statutory Training

• Ensure we promote our food safety knowledge through 100% site compliance to a minimum of Level 2 Food Safety
• Ensure that all employees have the statutory minimum training in Health, Safety and Environmental practices
• Keep up-to-date with legislative changes and advise the business on best practice
• To have day to day responsibility for Learner Support, Verification, Assessment.
• To collect, record and report daily Verification/Assessment activity for the company Tracker.
• To assist in Learning Unit creation by working with Operators, Managers and L&D Manager in establishing what a competent person needs to know to complete the task.
• Working with all operational managers and technical operators ensure that Process Picture Maps are in use in all areas and that all Process Picture Maps are current Training
• Working with a team of factory trainers, ensure all factory personnel are trained to the required level
• To design and deliver appropriate training interventions as required
• To facilitate training events as necessary
• To collate and report on training activity and training KPI’s
• To assist in regular behavioural assessments to ensure that standards are maintained Working as part of the Team
• Be flexible around working patterns.
• Situational Leadership to drive for better behaviours and practices.
• Ensure everyone is working safely.
• Develop and coach others Reporting
• Produce weekly and monthly reports.
• Ensure all reports are accurate and on time.
• Maintain training records and the training database
• Ensure corrective action plans are in place. Communication
• Ensure communications are accurate and detailed.
• Ensure all customers and suppliers both internal and external are satisfied.
• To be aware of the need for continuous improvement and to actively identify where process improvements can be made.
