This person will be an industry recognised technical expert in the sourcing, selection and use of a key ingredient category (protein, produce, and bakery).
My clients aim is to select the most appropriate suppliers and raw materials and subsequently use continuous improvement programmes to deliver an optimised performance in the busienss and to deliver a suite of materials and processes that will allow us to optimise our processes and recipes as materials come on to the market.
You will be driving the business to identify in advance and in good time a pipeline of potential RM and suppliers so that my client is nimble in switching if needed.
Experts my client will consider are; ingredient suppliers, kit makers, and academic experts.
Essential to the role is training of the operations teams and technical teams to build up my clients innate knowledge using GOL. (Goal orientated learning)
Measures of success will be:
Reduced complaints, yield %, recipe cost, number of concessions, numbers of people trained, quality improvements, customer recognition number of new innovations. To deliver continual positive change to the business by the application of science and technology developing excellence in materials, ingredients and processes such that these areas add value to their business. To share knowledge and develop levels of team expertise in these categories setting up a learning culture in raw materials To use improved RM knowledge to leverage performance improvement To demonstrate a leading edge capability in key raw material fields to our customers.
