Reporting into the Site Technical Manager and directly managing a team of 8 Production QA's.

My client, an award winning business, has a newly created role of QA Manager due to continued growth.

This is an important role which requires the post holder to have a strong understanding of quality and food safety standards. This role influences on all areas of the business and therefore requires an effective communicator that can, not only challenge practices and implement standards but also advise and educate.

Responsible for assisting in the management, development and control of the Technical and Quality Assurance function to achieve compliance with legislation and agreed business quality requirements, in line with company strategic objectives and agreed cost parameters.

Additional responsibility for food safety, quality and legality for this site in absence of the Site Technical Manager.

Skills / Experience:

• A food science degree or related equivalent is required.

• Technical/Quality Assurance management experience, ideally gained within a major chilled food manufacturing business.

• Experience in managing a team with an ability to motivate and deputise

• Ability to work on own initiative is essential

• A proven track record in a similar ‘hands on’ role

• Experience in dealing with EFSIS/BRC technical requirements would be an advantage

• Well developed communication skills and personal stature, together with a commercial approach, tact and diplomacy are mandatory
