Production Supervisor (Food)

£19k

Worcester

Twilight Shift 5pm - 1am

My client is experiencing exciting growth and change and is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join their Short Shelf life Operation. Candidates from a food manufacturing environment are preferred. Particular preference is for those who have worked in labour intensive and chilled environments currently / previously including Dairy.

Key areas of Job role:

1. Effectively manage a team of Operators and Team Members and encourage team performance through open and effective communication. Deliver a weekly briefing to team.

2.Organise materials (raw materials, packaging etc)

3.Verify and manage the attendance of Operators and Team Members (incl. labour usage against the standard) and inform Shift Manager of daily absences.

4.Ensure a team approach with regard to maintenance and hygiene of equipment and liaise and plan effectively with the relevant departments.

5.Ensure that all production activities are in conformance with the product specification, i.e. continuously manage the quality of the product and materials to comply.

6.Verify, control and assure that all the production parameters are within specification (i.e. process control). Monitor process parameters, identify (qualitative) deviances, evaluate and action solutions with team.

7.Coordinate with your shift team to deliver operational targets, i.e. liaise with Team Leads and Operators from other areas.

8.Enforce company policies, procedures and regulations (attendance, safety, GMP’s, etc.) and ensure these are followed to maintain the various high standards (Food Safety etc.)

9.Efficiently manage and facilitate teams to achieve production orders (and schedules) in a timely fashion.

10.Ensure that team targets for output, efficiency, labour, quality and waste etc. are met by adopting a proactive team approach.

11.Coordinate product and shift changeovers. Manage line shut-down and release for inspection, hygiene, curative (breakdown) and preventative maintenance on all production lines. Assist maintenance and team with simple machinery maintenance tasks.

12.Support your team during breaks and absences if required.

13.Resolve any team conflict and issue documented disciplinary actions, and ensure that team and individual effort, hard work and results are rewarded when appropriate.

14.Assess training needs of team and ensure training is delivered in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with individual and the business’ needs through a training plan. Play an active role in coaching of staff.

15.Ensure that you and team maintain a high level of housekeeping at all times.

This is areally fast moving production environment, but extremely rewarding and you will have the support of a really great management team around you
