For Market Leading Manufacturer South Humberside To support and deliver continuous improvement projects within the Planning function.
Focussing on customer service and inventory management, working closely with key Suppliers / Procurement and the Warehouse teams.
It is important for the post holder to build key relationships with Planning, Logistics, Production, Quality and Procurement teams internally.
It is also necessary to build relationships with Suppliers externally.
The post holder will need to develop and improve processes with the supplier base in particular by developing our systems / IT capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Produce and administer an optimized / sequenced manufacturing plan
• Liaise with Commercial Units to understand and meet market needs
• Communicate component & raw material requirements to suppliers to ensure on time delivery
• Develop close, working relationships with key suppliers in order to improve performance and reduce inventory holding. Specifically reviewing inbound delivery patterns and existing scheduling procedures in support of the warehouse.
• Initiate, implement inventory control and reduction projects. Ensuring a robust procedure in place to control obsolescence and stock write offs.
• To streamline data collection for the Supply Review process.
• To administer and support in the delivery of departmental KPI’s
• Initiate systems development and improvement
• To participate in major Planning improvement projects
• Manage supply issues to ensure no component shortages
• Co-ordinating improvement activity for and representing, the Planning team
Experience
• Degree calibre
• Microsoft Excel – Advanced level
• Use of mainframe ERP Planning systems / tools
• Experience of Planning / MRP within FMCG environment preferred. Personal Attributes
• Demonstrate a flexible & adaptable approach to work
• Ability to work accurately to set procedures & systems, showing attention to detail
• Achievement focussed and able to work in a direct and pressurised environment.
• Innovative with ability to consistently solve problems.
