My client is now looking to secure a top draw Engineering Manager who is able to lead and direct the team of talented Engineers, Project Manage plant investement, deliver against budgets and drive Engineering forward within the business.



Main Duties:



1. To manage and provide direction and support to a team of Engineers, facilitating their performance and development.

2. To set annual budget levels and ensure that the department operates within them.

3. To ensure that the business complies with all current legislation.

4. To be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is regularly maintained and all critical process equipment records are logged separately for due diligence purposes.

5. To actively promote a safety culture and ensure that all health and Safety requirements within the Engineering department are met.

6. To liaise with local authorities to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and all discharge consents. 7. To manage/facilitate all capital investment projects.

8. To ensure that all Company rules and procedures are adhered to and issues are dealt with fairly, promptly and consistently.

9. To develop positive working relationships with both suppliers and the customer.

10.To build and develop manufacturing best practice through a continuous improvement approach.

11. To facilitate New Product Development from an Engineering perspective.



Skills and Experience:

1. Must be a timed served multi skilled engineer – preference on the electrical bias

2. Must be qualified to at least City & Guilds standard in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

3. A working knowledge of IEE wiring regulations, Health & Safety at work Act 1974, the Electricity at Work Act 1989, Provision and Use of work Equipment (PUWER) Regulations 1998 would be desirable.

4. Excellent organisational skills

5. Senior Management experience

6. Ability to work under pressure

7. Strong communicator and have the ability to develop strong working relationships with the production departments

8. Experience within the food industry essential
